We want Darkstar Duel™ to be usable by as many players as possible. The menus, account screens, and these information pages are built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

What is supported

Every menu, account, and lobby control is a standard button, link, or labeled form field that works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus indicator.
Matchmaking, account, and chat status messages are announced to screen readers.
Single-player keyboard controls can be remapped in Account, and mobile touch controls have accessible names.
Menu animations stop when your device requests reduced motion.
Music can be turned off separately from sound effects, and M mutes all audio.
Text in the menus meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.

Known limitations

The arena is a real-time animation drawn on a canvas. It depends on quick visual tracking and timed key presses, and it cannot be played with a screen reader.
Pinch zoom is disabled on the game page so that touch controls do not zoom the screen by accident. Browser zoom (Ctrl or ⌘ with +) works on desktop, and pinch zoom works on these information pages.
Colorblind palettes and gamepad support are not available yet.

Photosensitivity warning

The game contains flashing lights, explosions, bright effects, and rapid motion. A small number of people may have seizures or blackouts when exposed to certain light patterns, even with no history of epilepsy. If you or anyone in your family has had seizures or epilepsy, ask a doctor before playing. Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, disorientation, or involuntary movement. Playing in a well-lit room, farther from the screen, and taking breaks can reduce the risk.
